On our first drive through Merrit Island Refuge on this day, as we drove past one of the larger pools at the refuge, we came upon this scene. The low tree line in the distance, the palms, the birds in flight and the beautiful colors of the rising sun created this early morning scene. Not having a typical lens for landscape shots with me, I used my telephoto lens opened as wide as it could go to capture this shot.
