After hearing of the Burrowing Owls in Cape Coral Florida, we had to take a quick trip on our way back from Venice Florida to see if we could spot any. It was the middle of the day and not the best light for photographs, but we made the best of it. We drove around the city looking for the Burrowing Owls mounds and hoping to see some owls. Just outside the city library, we found this mound and this single owl outside his nest perched on a wood cross. He did not seem to mind us paying him a visit and I was able to grab this capture.
