Brown Pelican Flight 1

J.N. 'Ding' Darling National Wildlife Refuge - Sanibel Island, Florida
February 9th, 2020
Brown pelicans, when photographed in good light can really show some beautiful colors despite their simple colored name. This capture shows some of these amazing colors throughout their head, beak and feathers. The blurred background shows the birds motion as I panned, following the birds flight across the water. The wing position, colors and details in his feathers really complete the shot.

I am in my 50's and happily married with 5 daughters from our blended family. I became interested in photography just a few short years ago, much later in life than many but my passion is strong. I started out experimenting with scenic mountain shots, landscapes, flowers and anything nature as being outside is where I am happiest.
